Lately you hear of HillsongUnitedTV, PlanetshakersTV and so on..

Well, DUCF decided to get a bit more techno savvy and got ourselves...

SMKDUCFTV!!

yeah man..

so from now on, check out SMKDUCFTV for all videos that have to do with SMKDUCF =)

Now, for the second part of the update...

God has been great to DUCF. Guess why?



Because SMKDUCF IS BACK IN SCHOOL, that's why!! xD
-this might be somewhat old news to some ppl, but hey, somebody's gotta tell everybody else =P

On the 24th of January 2008, three parents had a talk with our beloved principal Pn Norsham, by God's grace, she finally and actually said YES!! [Kudos to the dawn prayer kaki's btw, who prayed hard in the morning for the meeting to go on smoothly =)]

So on 25th January - Friday, we had much reason to celebrate!! -other than auctioning off our Birthday Boys/Girls xD [An update on 25th's Birthday Bash is on the way]. Hardly anyone could believe it. I still remember the shocked/stoned faces of the ppl when Joel told everybody that DUCF is back in school!! Even non-christians are talking about it. What a revolution. Miracles happen, Praise the Lord!!

I guess this proves clearly that God can work in our lives, and He does answer prayers, especially when we believe and ask for it fervently =P

So guys, be encouraged by this big step that DUCF is taking, and come for this friday's CF!!


Our next big step is to get DUCF official. The parents will be talking to our headmistress again sometime very soon. Continue to pray with us that the pengarah-pengarah in the ministry will find favour in DUCF. Better yet, come along and join the kaki gang every morning for Dawn prayer before school starts at the multipurpose court!! =)

Just a short note of appreciation too to Hannah and her family for extending her house for DUCF to use for the past three weeks =) God truly sees this sacrifice and He will reward you dearly =) The Welcome Party and Christmas Party was a blast!! xD

Valentine's Day - through the eyes of a guy.

Look around you—guys are acting strange.
The signs are everywhere: nervousness, lobster-like movement, sudden love for fiddle music, exploding teeth . . . all because of Feb. 14.

Why? Well, girls don’t understand the pressure ONE day can cause. It starts weeks before with a million questions: Should I ask someone out? Does that girl even like me? Is she just nice to me or nice to everyone? Will wearing a T-shirt with a horse on it impress her?



Then even if a girl is interested, guys don’t usually catch it.

Stephen: Are you taking Mandy to the dance?

Mike: I don’t know—I can’t figure her out. Every time I talk to her she turns red and giggles. Hmmmmm . . . She did give me this gift and wrote a 500-page book called “I Love Mike.” Oh, and that blimp in the sky has my picture on it, right next to hers. But I don’t know how she feels.

If a guy is taking out a girl, his mind really starts racing: Where should we go? The dance? A movie? The Hog Festival is in town . . . Oh wait—dinner! Fun? Romantic? Pizza? No, not pizza. The last time I ate pepperoni I got dizzy and did “The Funky Ostrich” dance.



It’s exhausting. Plus there’s always a fear of failure. What if his choice bombs? Some guys aren’t the best at date ideas, even if they try.

Then there’s more pressure. Why? Because of Guy Rule No. 48a: Guys feel like they must outdo whatever was done last Valentine’s Day. Here’s an example:

Valentine’s Day with Britt:
2005—Note written on gum wrapper

2006—Flowers, stuffed “love goose,” note on nice paper

2007—Planted rose garden, poem, dinner

2008—10-course meal, movie, basket of doves, chocolate sculpture, paint initials on cat

2009 [in progress]—Hire chef, live orchestra in car, win “American Idol” and write “Britt—It’s Valentine’s Day” hit song, dessert on moon

Then comes the big night, which includes one of the most terrifying experiences some guys will ever face: dress clothes. I know some guys who would rather be beamed to Planet of the Ant Kingdom than wear a tie. (By the way, putting on a tie can be traumatic. The first time I tried it took four days.)



Now you know why guys around you seem extra weird; they’re planning Valentine’s Day. And in some cases, overcoming great obstacles, personal insecurities and a fear of ironed pants—maybe just for you. And one smile from you makes it all worth it. That’s another secret about guys. If he’s with the girl God has placed in his life, he’ll do almost anything for her—even if it means his teeth might explode.

Hey, guys!!
Now, i'm sure most of you (or at least the younger lot of you), tuned in to watch the BIG premiere of High School Musical 2 a couple of months ago...
The ratings shot over the top, and now they're even planning a third one!
awesome... right?
hmmm.... maybe.
The movie may be all about following your dreams, and not just sticking with your friends.
Perfectly good themes for a movie, but what about the stars of the movie?
Are they really as 'squeaky clean' as their characters portray them to be?

Q: I've been a really big fan of Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella in the movie- the good girl), but after i heard about her nude pictures, I've been asking myself if its OK to listen to her music or watch her movies. What do you think?

A: The main thing is steering clear of entertainment that misses the mark. Celebrity indiscretions are extremely disappointing, but a clean movie is still a clean movie. so its really up to you.
If Hudgens' poor judgment creates a big distraction, even when you're watching or listening to her good projects, by all means avoid them. But there's no compromise in enjoying High School Musical just because one of its stars did something foolish off-camera.(Just make sure you cross her off your 'potential role model' list)


Q: What do you think of Ashley Tisdale and her Headstrong CD?
-Emi, Arlington Heights, lll.

A: Whatever happened to the funny, candy-counter girl from 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody'?
I'm beginning to think Ashley's been getting career advice from the people who turned Disney forebears Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera into 5-foot-3-inch hormones. She's not there yet but seems to be headed in that direction.
Headstrong contains a lot of dance pop with electronica groove. Its mostly love songs tracking romantic ups and downs. On 'Don't Touch (The Zoom Song)" Ashley rightly tells a guy to keep his hands to himself. But 'He Said She Said' has lyrics such as "baby i could see us kissin' like that..." and so on. YIKES!! And in CD photos and a few music videos she's looking like a Paris Hilton-lite tease. Right now that's the exception. Let's hope it doesn't become the rule.

I completely forgot to blog about the miracle that happened on that very day!!
Here's the thing..

At 12.30, when the bell rang, heaven decided to burst it's floodgates..
Yes, it was raining cats and dogs, i think i actually heard barks and meows, but anyway... xD

So then the committee decided to get together and pray hardcore. As in seriously hardcore... Praise The Lord!! by 1250, the rain had somewhat COMPLETELY SUBSIDED!! and by the time CF started, not even a cat or dawg was in sight =)

I actually thought that nobody would come [a lot of ppl actually told me at 1230 that they would go next friday and skip this one cause of the rain (when it was still raining)]

To see the heavy downpour stop so fast is already one miracle
and to see about 30+ ppl from 0 ppl is another miracle =)
