Not quite hot yet... Heatwave: Wave 1
Missing Camp? Well come back next year :) and for the Form 5s, treasure the memories for life... I will.
So without further dragging let's get down to business... I'm going to write abt camp and ur going to read it. Deal? Haha, dun worry, I'm a very interesting writer :)
So we gather at DK court and leave in true Malaysian style, at 10.15am; 15 mins behind schedule. There are 55 campers in all, together with Ms Lee and Ms Liang in the two buses.
Fastforward to abt 1pm and Harvest Haven is before our eyes. It's so small -_-' Whoever took those pictures on the post before this on the place gets 100 marks from me man... He/she made the place look so big!!! with all the right angles, lighting and whatever lah. But he certainly got us there man :p
Upon arrival there's a little chaos but everything is soon settled and we are now sitting in the hall.
Wah so obedient all our campers :)Kah Hoe: Can I join your group?
Aaron: No! Reject!
Wah, why CF people suddenly become so clique-ish one and some poor souls, like me, just seem to be perpetually outcast.. No lah, it's only the 'Accept me, reject me' game. Each person is labelled with tags and then supposed to get into groups but the twist is there is a condition on the labels like, 'Accept me if I'm a guy/girl', 'Accept me if I wear specs' or just plain, cruel - 'Reject me'.
The wonderful groups: (alphabetical order no favouritism)
Belacan
Cili Padi
Jalapeno
Tom Yam

Now comes a very interesting segment of the article... The Longest/Biggest/whatever-est
Longest...

Leg span!!! Ok lah I didn't win but still I'm good right :)
Wai Wan: 3rd longestSmallest...
Brain!!! No lah - ear lobes :)Smoothest...
Now some honourary mentions:
Most...
Finally there's a passing ball game
We're supposed to transport the ball using our hands placed on our heads as a path for it to roll...
Here's an example of how it's done :)
All eyes on the ball...Boys and girls in *ahem* close proximity...
With that the games session came to an end and all the campers went back to their rooms.
(Wah fully-airconditioned man!!!)
6pm Dinner
Kah Hoe's Pool station...
Get the black one!!!Jen Wei's D*EP station... never mention the word...

when you get it wrong!!! 8.30pm WORSHIP!!!
Musicians
The enthusiastic crowdSession one: Who is God to you?
Speaker: Christina Leong, SU
First activity: Write anything event or person from the Bible and come paste on the timeline:
Chen: Eh, what was the woman David was peeping at ah?
Kah Hoe: David Rosh? When?
Chen: Not our David lah... King David
KH: Oh... Bathsheba
And so we came up with a very interesting and quite complete timeline of our own.

Seems like most people really remember the cross and the events surrounding it.
So why the timeline? Because it's God plan for His people.
And you see the big gap after the cross till the end?
Well that's where we belong. Each of us is in God's plan and He has a place for each of us.
All the events and people that have gone before us were a spark, just like you and me now. And most importantly, they became a heatwave that lives on till today. We too have the potential to become a heatwave, but only if we allow God to change and use us.
Activity #2: Leave your handphones in the box. WHAT!!! NOOoOOooOoo...

Then take a candle
and go outside.Suddenly there's a bright flash of light! What was that! Oh it was Miss Lee taking a pic.
If you look hard enough, that's me at the right of the pic in white :)
Then I think: It's been 20 mins what am I doing here? Arhh... Stupid insects... Itchy grass... Wait what's that? Light! Oh yes!!! I'm saved.
Christina lighted the candle of the camper A who then lighted the light of the B, who lighted the light of C and so on till all had light.
Simple illustration with a powerful message: A single candle can light many, many others; a single spark can start a heatwave.
HEYO!
.
Yeah?
Yeah =)
Well, we'll wait till next Saturday, perhaps?

DELUGE?
.
Ok. I think many of us sing/use Planetshakers or Hillsong (United)'s songs during worship. Can't blame them, they've practically taken over the christian music industry (with good cause of course) . But have you checked out other bands - Desperation, Delirious?, Generation Unleahsed, Jesusfreaks, DELUGE and others who share their equal amount of talents to be used for God's glory?
YOU SHOULD CHECK THEM OUT.
.
Of course, ultimately, it's not about how good they sound, or how cliche their lyrics are.
We have one sole purpose to fulfill when we worship:
GOD
.
So yeah, found a really really moving song from Deluge about being truly worshipping God.
So spare some time to chill and check out this song.

DUCF CAMPERS ALERT!
Briefing notes, agenda, where to meet, contacts are all packed up nicely for you in one envelope.
but just in case,
here are some footnotes about camp, what to bring and expect:
1. Bible, stationeries and writing materials.
2. Personal toiletries and towel
3. Coins and extra money ( just in case)
4. Dressing is casual for all sessions but do be discreet and appropriate (no spaghetti or tank tops or midriff baring tops or hot pants or hipster jeans allowed. This is to show respect for one another). Don’t forget proper sports attires because this camp’s learning ‘classrooms’ are both indoor and outdoor.
5. You are required to bring a set of smart/formal wear (batik shirt, long sleeve shirt, slacks and shoes for guys and dinner dress, dinner suit or baju kurung for the gals) to be worn for the final night... a sort of prom night for you. The event will be called HOT night aka Hanging Out Together night
6. Do bring your gaming equipment too like your Pingpong rackets, Basketballs and Footballs as there will be free time everyday for your sporting activities
7. During the HOT night, there will be a talent time session where the campers (you!) will be allowed to perform in front of everybody! Bring your Backing Tracks if you intend to sing and bring your CDs if you intend to dance alone or by a group as well as your necessaries. Do inform Sunshine or Ee Choong the moment camp commences to ensure that you have a slot during Talent Time.
8. As a precaution against mosquitoes please bring mosquitoes repellent or electric mosquitoes mat burner.
9. Bring lots and lots of extra clothes and make sure they are not those which are branded or expensive as there are games where you are required to get down, wet and dirty. Most of the area there are air-conditioned therefore bring a jacket if one gets too cold.
10. Do bring little gifts/presents or little things as there’ll be this game called Angels& Mortals where the Angels are suppose to bless their Mortals throughout the whole camp.
**for those leaving with us on the bus, bus LEAVES tentatively 10am at DK court.
Mind you! phone calls asking us to delay departure because you are still on the way will not be entertained.
