LEO Christmas Party - DUCF's Performance =)

Hey DUCF!!
As some of you might already know, DUCF will be presenting christmas carols during the LEO Christmas Party.

The details of the party are:

Day: Friday
Date: 21st December 2007
Time: starts at 7 pm
[don't be late, we will be the opening act]
Attire: formal/costume
[our colour code will be red. black. white. wear any of the three but try to have all three if you can]
Tickets: RM17
Venue: Taman Tun Community Hall

First of all, our main purpose for going to this LEO party will be to publicize about DUCF, who we are and what we do. So don't complain that you have to pay RM17 or brave the night to go for the party. It's a ridiculously small price to pay in comparison for what He has paid for you =) Fair enough? To buffer it all, we'll be getting Certificates of Appreciation, so no worries.

Tomorrow we will be having our first and final practice.

Time: 9 am - 12 am
Date: Friday, 21st December 2007
Venue: Joel's house - No 36, Jalan BU4/3
[After One Utama, drive past Central Park on your left. When you see BU4 school, turn left. Go all the way straight and take the second turning to the right, just when you see the shoplots]
Tickets: FREE!!
[practice time only mah -____-]
Who's invited?: EVERYBODY!!

This Christmas Carolling would be open to everybody who wants to participate. Just come on friday morning to practice and you'll be good to go.

The songs we will be singing are:
1) Feliz Navidad
2) We wish you a merry christmas
3) Hark the Herald Angels Sing - slower version
4) O Holy Night

Most importantly, we will be SINGING ACAPELLA!! whooohooo =P
Acapella = A song without instruments

Just a little info

Psalms = Songs with Instruments
Hymns = Songs without Instruments =)

I tried timing all the songs and we would technically end under 10 minutes because they are actually quite short =)

Everybody should practice before they come for practice as this would make things a lot easier

So here are the songs, lyrics and the chords.

1) Feliz Navidad

By a school chior

A more professional version

This song is quite simple, and the key will be in G [most probably - to suit everyone's range]. We'll synchronize the key on friday.

Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Feliz Navidad
Prospero Ano y Felicidad.

Feliz Navidad

We wanna wish you a Merry Christmas

From the bottom of my heart.

3) Hark the Herald Angels Sing
- okay, here will be the tricky part. The key of the song will be G and the boys will be leading the song. The girls will pandai pandai harmonize.

So here's the Kick butt chior version by St. Paul's Cathedral

We will be singing in the key the chior is singing, G.

Second Adam from above
Reinstate us in Thy love
Hark the herald angels sing
Glory to the newborn King

Verse 2:
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming
Here came the wise men from orient land
The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger
In all our trials born to be our Friend

Chorus 2:
He knows our need
to our weakness is no stranger
Behold your King before Him lowly bend
Behold your King before Him lowly bend

Verse 3:
Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name

Chorus 3:
Christ is the Lord
O praise His name forever
His power and glory evermore proclaim
His power and glory evermore proclaim
Sounds fun right?
That can only mean one thing.
