Hey Guys!!!

Holidays has begun!!!! It's only 1 week! so spend these 7 days wisely!!

Anyway... here's a little something collected from the internet :)

We know that 80% of the town of Meulaboh in Aceh was destroyed by the Tsunami waves and 80% of the people died. This is one of the towns that was hit the hardest.

But there is a fantastic testimony from Meulaboh. In that town are about 400 Christians.

They wanted to celebrate Christmas on December 25th but were not allowed to do so by the Muslim of Meulaboh. They were told if they wanted to celebrate Christmas they needed to go outside the city of Meulaboh on a high hill and there celebrate Christmas. Because the Christian desired to celebrate Christmas the 400 believers left the city on December 25th and after they celebrate Christmas they stayed overnight on the hill.

As we all know the morning of December 26th there was the earthquake followed by the Tsunami waves destroying most of the city of Meulaboh and thousands were killed. The 400 believers were on the mountain and were all saved from destruction.

Now the Muslim of Meulaboh are saying that the God of Christians punished us for forbidding the Christians from celebrating Christmas in the city. Others are questioning why so many Muslim died while not even one of the christians died there.

Had the Christians insisted on their rights to celebrate Christmas in the city, they would have all died. But because they humbled themselves and followed the advice of the Muslims they are all were spared destruction and can now testify of God's marvelous protection.

This is a testimony of the grace of God and the fact that as believers we have no rights in the world. Our right is come before God and commit our lives to Him. Our right is kneeling down before the Lord almighty and commit our ways to Him. He is our Father and is very capable to care for His children. Praise the Name of the Lord.

The Revolution begins with YOU

"Owe no one anything except love one another for

he who loves another has fulfilled the law" -Romans 13:8

What is it? IN a nutshell...

Recess Revolution is a movement/mobilization of young people who are maximizing "recess time" ("rehat") in schools to make a statement of what they believe in, and to make an impact by being a positive influence right where they are. It is a coming together of like-minded, "like-spirited" youths to do something together in their schools with a mission to make the difference and bring about positive change (i.e revolution!) It is not just about bringing people to Christ, but-even more so - about bringing Christ to people (and into schools)!

Do Something??

"Doing something" can include:-

• Just bringing your Bibles to school; displaying it,carrying it around
• Studying Bible heroes or hold meaningful conversations at recess
• Gathering at the flagpole or a selected location to pray, or gathering all the Christians at the school field just to see how many there are!
• Doing random acts of kindness for peers or teachers!
• and many more!

Sometimes it can also mean NOT doing something: non-action or non-compliance, especially when temptation to comply with unrighteous or ungodly policies kick in!

While you will find many helpful guidelines, materials, and even weekly/monthly "assignments" that you can adopt, from this website, on how you can run "Recess Revolution" in your schools... Please also be free to explore and experiment even as the Holy Spirit leads you to do whats relevant and impactful for your school!

SHOW UP!

• first of all, you need to "show up" in school! Don't ponteng (unnecessarily!) :)
• It's the least and simplest thing you can do! Being there counts! Numbers sometimes reflects strength!

...When theres a gathering of Christians - SHOW UP!

...When there's a Bible Study at the canteen - SHOW UP!

...When there's a call for prayer - SHOW UP!

STAND UP!

• Stand for something, especially for what is right. Someone once said, "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything"
• Rise up, and not back down. Lift up the standards (of God)- somebody needs to do it!
• For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a soound mind! Not fear, but FAITH!
• Stand up to the giants of the day - and with the Holy Spirit's help, overcome!
• Be bold and proud of who you are - you are a Christian, a Disciple of Christ, a child of God, more than conqueror, and the list goes on!

SPEAK UP!

Make a statement, and when necessary use words!

• You can make a statement by bringing your Bibles
• You can make a statement by reading your Bibles during recess
• You can make a statement by NOT cheating in your exams even when all your friends are doing it, and even when the teacher offers it!! O.O
• You can make a statement by speaking agaisnt injustice
• You can make a statement by doing kindness, meeting real needs of students in school
• You can make a statement by cleaning up the school!
• ...and the list goes onnn!!

RECESS RALLY Klang Valley Gathering 2009

Thats right folks! On Saturday on the 8th

ACTS church, Subang Jaya held a gathering for the schools in the Klang Valley with RR.

So guess what? DUCF represent by our RR co's and members joyfully woke up as early as 7 that morning and gathered at school at 8a.m.(On Saturday...i know...) where Kylie and Sunshine's mom's transported the 10 psyched up kiddos all the way to ACTS Church at Summit Hotel where the event was held :)

When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by smiling ushers(it felt good to see smiley people so early in the morning) and we were registered:) Because we were early, we got to get a sneak peak at the worship band practicing!

It's really awesome cause most of the worship songs we sang on that day are written by their very own band!!! *WOW*

PRESENTING

it was up for sale on that day for only RM10!! If you wanna have a listen to it i think you can go ask Sunshine for permission :) heheh...

Then after the very short 15 minutes. We settle back to our own seats and representitives from different schools came up on stage and share their testimonies about RR in their schools :)
